Live Seamlessly

Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving! If you’re following on Instagram, I was in LA for a quick trip down, it’s never long enough though. I’m back in the Bay Area now, and if you’re free this Saturday, please stop by my Event at Succulence SF from 3-5pm.

I’ve teamed up with Rothy’s ecofriendly shoes to throw a Pop Up at a Succulent Garden and you’ll be able to shop and preview their current shoe collection. I’ll have drinks and treats, so stop by if you can!

A Little Luxe

Everyone can use a bit of luxe in their life. Which is why I’m happy to collaborate with eco friendly, sustainable, and forward thinking brand, LUXESPUN.  LUXESPUN believes in everything I hope the masses can one day get behind, so by paying it forward…5% of every sale goes to Roundabout, an organization that connects volunteers and funds to 48 charities throughout China and Inner Mongolia.

I saw designer Amy Deng’s pieces on Instagram recently and low and behold, we both are Bay Area gals. She currently lives in Shang Hai. LUXESPUN was born in 2015, with a belief that a luxe label can be made entirely out of eco friendly and recyclable materials. This is the cool part. Her cottons are 100% organic and certified, her bamboo and hemp that she mixes into the garments are the most sustainable fibers grown on the planet, and she recycles polyester by breaking down post consumer waste. Amazing right? But also incredibly beautiful.

I really hope the fashion and manufacturing industry can be more forward thinking like Amy, I truly do. We have one planet and a responsibility as consumers.

If you would like to purchase one of Amy’s designs, please use my code “Lauren10” at checkout to save 10% off a $50 order.

As always thank you for reading!

Life is Fast, Fashion Shouldn’t Be

Hi all, hope you’re having a good week thus far and in all seriousness, I’d like to thank you for reading all my posts as of late. I took a little hiatus earlier in the year, but that’s because I was trying to create a plan of where I wanted this blog and content to go. Now I have it and I’m locked and loaded, so I can’t wait to share everything that’s coming with you soon.

Today, I’d like to share something I care strongly about. And that is quality vs.quantity. I apply this to all aspects of life, but this article (among many others that have come out recently) specifically puts a spotlight on “fast fashion” and why it is so important to be a consumer that chooses consciously. There are countless throwaway “fashion companies” that are made less than poorly overseas, made in massive quantities, and then dissgarded shortly after it’s one-wear use that the planet literally cannot hold such things anymore. And I think it’s a damn shame.

Call me elitist, but as an example, you will never see me promote or purchase something from Forever21. From ethics as a corporation, to poor product, and so on… I just can’t support it. I would very much rather pay more for something of quality that will stand the test of time. Which brings me to the brands that I love and will wear over and over again, like the ones I’m wearing here.

At the bottom of this post are the list of brands with the links to each site. I especially love Amour Vert, for they are ethical, eco-friendly, and get this: For every purchase they plant a tree! If you read my blog long enough or follow me on Instagram, you will see just how many times these pieces have been popping up, so they definitely are getting lots of wear :D

Have a great rest of your week, and thanks again for visiting! I especially would like to hear your thoughts on the article if you choose to read it.
