Hi all, hope your week is off to a good start. I recently sat down for coffee with local jewelry designer April May in Oakland, CA after I found her metal pieces on Instagram. Be sure to follow her @Aprilmayjewelry :D It’s fun to meet cool people in your neighborhood and April is just that. She makes all her pieces by hand and you can definitely check her booths out if you’re ever planning on going to SF’s Treasure Island Flea Market.
If you’ve been seeing my Instagram feed, you’d see that I wore April’s bangles a lot around town, I don’t really think I took them off for the most part mainly because they’re just so easy to wear. And you can too, just enter our contest at the bottom of the page and April will send you your own necklace and bangles to wear about :) Remember, the more ways you enter the better luck you’ll have.
Contest runs for one week and will be notified by email at random.
Happy Labor Day everyone, what are you doing for this long weekend? I’m missing being on vacation mode, but hopefully you can travel with me through these next batch of photos from our recent trip. Between the waterfall hike to sipping drinks on the beach, splashing through the breathtaking views, and eating our fair share of musubi and shaved ice, I think it’s safe to say that we milked our short stay on the island to it’s max relaxing capacity. We hope to explore elsewhere too in the near future, so for those of you who have been to the other Hawaiian islands, what are your favorite places to eat, see, and stay?
As always, thanks for reading and enjoy your 3 day weekend!
Ooh get excited Valley peeps, Goorin Bros has officially opened on Ventura and I’m thrilled about it! I love hats. You’ll see me wearing my favorite black floppy hat a lot (see my “About Me” page, I’m wearing one from Shopbop.) Hats are the easiest way in my opinion, to complete an outfit and strike up a conversation. For those of you new to the hat game, Goorin Brothers is a fantastic shop that carries men’s and women’s artisan crafted headwear with many locations all over. Throwback to 1895 when the original Goorin created the handmade hats and now they’re 4 generations deep!
Last night was their grand opening so I happily popped in to try some fun hats on. They had a live jazz band playing, little bite cupcakes from Big Sugar Bakeshop, and a raffle for a night’s stay at the Beverly Garland Hotel *fingers crossed* It’s a great looking shop and they carry every shape imaginable from Gatsbys to Cloches, to Outbacks and Fedoras.
Below are some of my favorites that they carry. Go and try them, you’ll see how easy it is to perk up any look.
