Marble Moment

Morning everyone. If you’re like me, working from home can be a luxury and a challenge all at the same time. For one, it’s easy toΒ get too comfortable in your own home, which may sound nice in theory but it makes productivity harder. Since I bounce back and forth between the East Bay, SF, and Peninsula every other week, my second office might as well be my car. Feeling less than inspired lately with desk items and typical office things, I’m really happy that Case AppΒ and I got in touch.

If you’re not familiar with Case App, they’re a site where you can custom make your own skins for iPhones and laptops. I’ve always wanted to upgrade my laptop, so now I have one finally! Plus, I added my website on the corner as a detail.

This skin I chose is Strawberry Marble. I’m a sucker for marble anything. My childhood home was designed with both black and white marble in the bathrooms and fireplace, so you see my affection for the stone started from a young age. There’s something aesthetically calming when looking at it too, which is how I want to feel when I open up my laptop every day :DΒ img_1281img_1284

If you’re like me and work from home, how do you stay inspired and productive? Do you believe in feng shui? Do you find yourself always cleaning?img_1279

Thank you Case App for my awesome new skin. If you’d like to create your own, go to their site here and use “shoesandsashimi20” for 20% off at checkout. Enjoy!

Getting Glam with The Glam App

Last week I had the full glam experience in preparation for the holidays thanks to a service called The Glam App. Founded by celebrity makeup and hair artist Joey Maalouf and Actress Cara Santana, The Glam App is an affordable on demand luxury service that is currently spreading through out the U.S and London.

Once I downloaded The Glam App, I simply booked a makeup session for the date and time at my connivence. Emily (@emilysimsmakeup) arrived promptly to my front door the following week and in the comfort of my own home had a fun morning of makeup for my shoot with local photographer Julie the same day!

Here are some of the products Emily used and some beautiful shots that Julie took. I wish I could look like this all the time!

Be sure to download The Glam App for a service in your city and if you are in the SF area be sure to book your session with Emily as I would happily work with her 10x over.

Cheers everyone, it’s almost Christmas!

Emily used a lot of Tarte products on me, they provide great coverage and are good for sensitive skin like mine.
