Mile High Moments

Sharing some of my favorite moments from our time spent in Denver, CO now that I have a second to go through all these photos. The food scene is amazing, innovative, and incredibly fun. Colorado itself is panoramic, and the air is crisp and clean. Everyone is friendly and happy, not a pretentious bone in anyone’s body. That’s probably because they can afford to live there….*glares at S.F.* And, having met some of @twelfthknight’s coworkers on this trip, it was time well spent with good food, and even better company.

Shot by local photographer Jenna Sparks, I was able to capture a lot with her as my unofficial Denver photog. Thanks for the captures, Jenna!

Travel Style with Lo & Sons

I’m not entirely sure what I would’ve done without my travel bag from Lo & Sons on this trip to New York. Would you believe that this light weight carry on fit my 13.5″macbook, 2 chargers, wallet, phone, snacks, and a moto jacket effortlessly through TSA and fit under my seat with no struggle? Here’s the kicker, I didn’t need to carry it through the airport. I just fed it over my suitcase handle and it sat on top of my Samsonite as I rolled up :D

If you’re reading this post currently, I am enroute to Nevada and yes, I did bring this bag with me. It’s a lifesaver and makes everything about packing and traveling so much easier.

My travel style is quite casual and made for efficiency. I was tired way before I ever got on my flight, so this look is a no fuss no muss type of deal. Slip on loafy sneakers from Carrano (available here) to make the checkpoint faster, a sweatshirt from Majestik Supply (available here) and a long line coat from State of Being the Label (found here on Revolve for $63)

Get away with me: Wine Country

Sometimes I feel like I’m always searching for some resolve or peace of mind. Maybe I’ve always been restless. Not sure what I’m always searching for exactly, but I know that to be completely content with oneself and where they’re at in life is quite rare. Striving for more but better yet figuring out how to get there is always on my mind, day in day out. If you’re anything like me, it’s exhausting am I right?

A few days in Paso Robles (2 hrs north of LA) with the furbaby and @Twelfthknight helped me reach some calm finally in a long time. Every dip in our hotel pool, a morning tour of Hearst Castle, and some really nice time spent wine tasting and eating…can’t get more relaxing than that.

Hearst literally built his dream. And so will I, one way or another.

As always, thank you for reading and keep striving :)

Where we went:

Ecluse Winery, Paso Robles

Calcareous Vineyards, Paso Robles

Hearst Castle, San Simeon

Travel with Me: Cabo

Last stop on our tour is Cabo San Lucas, and to be honest…it’s my favorite out of the three :D @Twelfthknight and I spent hours in the clear water of Medano Beach, a straight shot to El Arco de Cabo (those monolithic rock formations.) Hacienda Beach Resort is beautiful and I highly recommend coming here for the beach scene. Cabanas, sun, jet ski’s glass bottom boats, fish, sand, and crystal clear water…what more do you need?

I loved our time here on the open sea, it was the most relaxed I’ve felt in a long time. I do think we’ll be booking with Princess early next year for our next adventure. If you would like to book a trip, you can use the link found here.

Travel with Me: Mazatlan

Hope you all had a nice weekend, Happy Halloween everyone! Sharing with you, our next Port of Call: Mazatlan, an older and significantly larger beach city. We got off the ship at 7am and decided to explore a sleepy beach named Isla de la Piedra before we went into the city proper. To get to Isla de la Piedra, we walked a block and a half from the ship to a little dock full of water taxis. We hopped on and jetted off for about 15 minutes until we reached this beautiful but somewhat ghostly quiet beach that was the Isla. I also learned that Mazatlan is iconic for their thatched roofs which I loved to sit and stand under :D Here, we spent the morning walking through the water and sand until it was time to go back for lunch.

*At this hour, we had the entire beach to ourselves. It was a little eery, but in a beautiful way.

After our morning here, we went back across the water to the city where we ate at Panchos which overlooks the beach. Our recommendations would be to order the red snapper and the shrimp ceviche, delicious!

Travel With Me: Sayulita Nayarit

Ahoy! @Twelfthknight and I literally cruised into Puerto Vallarta on October 18th from Los Angeles, this being our first cruise with Princess. We had no expectations and we truly loved the cruise ship life. I will say that Princess’s hospitality and service was a little mind blowing, they made our rooms twice a day at least, were so friendly that we felt like we made all types of International friends, and you really felt taken care of from morning to night. Who doesn’t love round the clock room service, endless lattes, and 5 different pools to choose from? We will definitely be booking with them again, dare I say to Alaska sometime next year? :D

img_4122img_4198img_4234img_4184

After 3 days of being at sea, I couldn’t wait to touch land again. Cabin Fever is a real thing! Our first Port of Call was Puerto Vallarta and after snooping out this little surf town about an hour north of PV, we decided to get crazy and bus it upwards to Sayulita. It’s a charming beach town, very colorful, authentic in that it’s not commercialized, and it’s very much like being in the jungle. This town is full of artisans working on their wares, they were all very friendly. We frolicked on the beach, stuck an umbrella in the sand, and got our coconuts (one of many on this trip.) All in all, it’s a great little place if you want to feel like you want to get lost somewhere.

*This was a really short photo set because we were trying to get our bearings, but Mazatlan and Cabo will have more, promise.

Some Tips:

Wear rubber soles or sandals with support. (The roads and streets are either dusty or uneven cobble stones)

The humidity was no joke. Don’t bother bringing hair products

Booking:

We loved our Princess experience. Affordable, easy, and worry free (book your next trip here)

Up next, Mazatlan! You can read about that on Monday :D

Sundown in Denver

I met Emilyanne the first full day in Denver and I’m terribly grateful I got to shoot with her. Emily shoots not only the beautiful bloggers of Denver, but also is a wedding and portrait photographer serving cities nationwide. We shot 3 looks in 45minutes just in time to see the sun go down. As you can see, there’s still a little bit of snow. I also saw many wild rabbits hopping through the valley :D

Thank you Emily for showing me a little bit of Colorado, a scenic view I would’ve never found on my own!
